”It was such a release to get it out, it was a huge weight off my shoulders. They equipped us with strategies and the tools to not gamble again going forward and I am (now) a different person without a doubt.

Bev

To celebrate our 50th anniversary year, we have teamed up with People’s Voice Media to gather stories from people who have had their lives changed through undergoing treatment with Gordon Moody.
Through one-to-one and group storytelling sessions, people affected by gambling will share their experiences. These stories will explore how gambling and the stigma surrounding it has affected people’s lives. The stories will also show the impact of our work in supporting people through their addiction.
From the stories people have shared so far, we have heard about how having a gambling addiction can be an isolating experience, but the realisation that you are not alone is a real breakthrough moment.

”It was such a release to get it out, it was a huge weight off my shoulders. They equipped us with strategies and the tools to not gamble again going forward and I am (now) a different person without a doubt.‘ – Bev

“I reached out and within four weeks, I had a place.” – Mark

We aim to gather 50 stories from 50 people by the end of 2021, in video, audio and written form. Extracts from these stories will be shared on our website, documenting first-hand experiences of gambling and Gordon Moody’s approach to working with people.
