Gordon Moody is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to providing support and treatment for those severely affected by gambling harms. The organisation was set up in South London in 1971, and we now have centres across the UK offering residential treatment for men and women to help them reclaim and rebuild their lives through recovery in a safe and supported environment.

Along with our unique specialist treatment centres for men and women, we offer relapse prevention and aftercare programmes. We also deliver a unique Retreat & Counselling programme that combines short-stay residential treatment with ongoing at-home support.

These programmes provide seamless care and support for those in treatment along with friends and family support to help those who are affected by a loved one’s gambling harms.

The Data & Insight Analyst is the gatekeeper of the organisation’s Apricot system and is responsible for data reporting both internally and externally, including providing required data reports to commissioners. The role is also responsible for training key team members from across the organisation in PowerBI and acting as the superuser for PowerBI and Apricot. This stand-alone role reports to the Clinical Director but will work with teams across the organisation to ensure information governance and compliance are maintained at the highest levels.

The role maximises the quality of data insight to ensure the delivery of progressive fundraising activity and quality service user experience. To provide informed, clear, and well-articulated interpretation of all data analysis and actively advise on an appropriate course of action to allow fundraisers to make informed choices and maximise opportunity on all income-related activity.

The Data & Insight Analyst will be responsible for the collection of Data throughout the organisation to inform reports detailing the evidence, impact and performance of Gordon Moody. Reporting to various stakeholders the Data and Insights Analyst will ensure the data is complete and presented to a high standard in line with the branding of the organisation and requirements of each stakeholder.

Responsibilities:

  • To act as system administrator and the gatekeeper for the Apricot system, undertaking data cleansing activity and ensuring oversight of activity by Gordon Moody users on the system.
  • Create and update PowerBI dashboards for use across the organisation.
  • Provide PowerBI training and support internally to enable individual team reporting.
  • Keep up-to-date records of our waiting list so that Treatment Centre Teams can prioritise clients for treatment.
  • Keep accurate records of occupancy.
  • Oversee the continued interconnection and integration of all database systems (ConnectMixShare, PowerBI, Apricot and Excel spreadsheets) to ensure consistency and automation of data flows.
  • Report data in line with commissioner requirements and reporting to funders.
  • Provide accurate reports presented in line with GM brand guidelines.
  • Coach and oversee the completion of data by colleagues working remotely and within treatment centres.
  • Collect, explore and interpret data to demonstrate impact and support the evidence and need for future projects.
  • Support the organisation in achieving CQC compliance.
  • To ensure data and system compliance (Apricot)
  • Lead on Information Governance activity within the organisation including working with the Data Controller to ensure GDPR compliance and appropriate reporting of data breaches within the organisation.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • A-Level Maths or equivalent ability.
  • Experience of working in a therapeutic environment/service, ideally with an addiction
  • Proven experience of working with a CRM system.
  • Good understanding of relational databases.
  • Experience of Apricot (or similar) and acting as a system administrator.
  • Good level of Excel, including Pivot tables.
  • Good level MS Office skills in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate / Expert knowledge of PowerBI.
  • A good understanding of GDPR, legislation and how this should be applied to internal systems, policies and reporting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the problematic and treatment of addiction and mental health issues.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal and reporting).
  • Demonstratable good negotiation skills.
  • Able to present technical data to a non-technical audience in an authoritative and persuasive way.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to produce high-level statistical analysis and report writing.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and experience in interacting with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective relationship building with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to evidence a commitment to our values.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and willingness to develop.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and as part of a wider organisation.
  • Able to travel across the UK when required, particularly to residential sites in Dudley, Wolverhampton and Redditch.

Desirable:

  • Degree in a subject that includes statistics (i.e. maths, psychology, geography).
  • Experience working in a health and social care environment (e.g. residential, mental health or drug support services)
  • Experience of working with clients remotely, such as online or on the phone.
  • Experience working with people affected by gambling-related harm
  • Case management experience with an understanding and application of risk, incident and safeguarding processes.
