Marketing and Events Lead

Reports to: Commercial Director
Team: Commercial
Location: Redditch or Wolverhampton, West Midlands

2/3 days of working from home is fine and there will be some UK travel

 

Job purpose

The Marketing & Events Lead will lead Gordon Moody’s marketing, events and external visibility activity, building awareness of the organisation, its services and impact among priority audiences across the UK.

The role will develop and deliver a proactive programme of marketing campaigns, conferences, exhibitions, events and stakeholder engagement opportunities, ensuring Gordon Moody is visible in the right places, with the right messages, to the right audiences.

Working closely with the Commercial Director, Head of Partnerships & Income Generation and Content & Digital Engagement Officer, the role will translate organisational and commercial priorities into targeted marketing and engagement activity across healthcare, NHS, public health, local government, VCSE, corporate and community audiences.

The role will take ownership of Gordon Moody’s external events calendar and traditional marketing activity, while leading the delivery of Gordon Moody-led events and activities.

Key responsibilities

Marketing & awareness

  • Develop and deliver Gordon Moody’s marketing and events plan, aligned to organisational and commercial priorities.
  • Lead traditional and offline marketing activity to increase awareness of Gordon Moody, its services, expertise and impact so support direct referrals.
  • Develop targeted campaigns to reach healthcare professionals, commissioners, public health teams, referral partners, employers, communities and other priority audiences.
  • Oversee the development of marketing materials including brochures, service information, referral materials, exhibition collateral, presentations, posters and campaign assets.
  • Ensure Gordon Moody’s brand and messaging are consistently and professionally represented across external activity.
  • Identify new opportunities and channels through which Gordon Moody can increase awareness and reach priority audiences.

Events, conferences & external visibility

  • Develop and own an annual events and engagement calendar, identifying where Gordon Moody needs to have a presence.
  • Identify and assess conferences, exhibitions, professional networks and stakeholder events based on audience, strategic relevance, cost and potential impact.
  • Lead Gordon Moody’s presence at external events, from identifying opportunities through to planning, delivery, representation and follow-up.
  • Represent Gordon Moody at conferences, exhibitions and events, confidently engaging with stakeholders and promoting our services and expertise.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of Gordon Moody’s flagship conference and develop a wider programme of roundtables, webinars, workshops and stakeholder events.
  • Coordinate speakers, stands, suppliers, venues, collateral and internal representation as required.
  • Ensure events are used proactively to create new relationships, increase awareness and support referrals and partnership opportunities.

Integrated marketing & content

  • Work closely with the Content & Digital Engagement Officer to connect physical and digital marketing activity.
  • Ensure conferences and events generate opportunities for social, video, photography and other digital content before, during and after activity.
  • Support integrated campaigns where digital activity, traditional marketing, events and stakeholder engagement work together around priority audiences.
  • Identify stories, case studies and opportunities from across Gordon Moody that can strengthen external marketing and awareness.

Partnership & organisational support

  • Work closely with the Head of Partnerships & Income Generation to support engagement with prospective commissioners, partners, employers and other organisations.
  • Develop materials and marketing activity that support partnership development, service promotion and referral generation.
  • Build relationships with conference organisers, professional bodies, networks, community organisations and other stakeholders that can extend Gordon Moody’s reach.
  • Work across clinical, operational, lived experience and corporate teams to ensure Gordon Moody is represented accurately and authentically.

Planning, budget & impact

  • Manage marketing and events activity within agreed budgets and ensure expenditure delivers appropriate value.
  • Develop clear objectives and measures of success for campaigns, conferences and events.
  • Track activity including audience reach, engagement, contacts generated, enquiries, referrals and partnership opportunities where appropriate.
  • Use insight, feedback and performance data to continually improve marketing and events activity.
  • Provide regular updates on activity, performance and future opportunities to the Commercial Director and wider organisation.

Person specification

We are looking for a proactive and confident marketing professional who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

The successful candidate will be comfortable developing a marketing plan, organising a major event, creating a campaign and representing Gordon Moody externally. They will understand that successful marketing is not simply about producing materials, but about identifying audiences, reaching them effectively and generating meaningful engagement.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Experience in marketing, events, communications, engagement or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing and delivering marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Strong experience of planning and delivering conferences, exhibitions or stakeholder events.
  • Confidence representing an organisation externally and engaging with a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience developing marketing collateral and working within established brand guidelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners and suppliers.
  • Understanding of how marketing and events can support awareness, engagement, referrals, partnerships and organisational growth.
  • Ability to evaluate opportunities and measure the effectiveness of marketing activity.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and attend events where required.

Desirable:

  • Experience within healthcare, NHS, public health, charity or VCSE environments.
  • Experience marketing health, treatment or support services.
  • Experience delivering large-scale conferences or events.
  • Experience working alongside digital/content specialists to deliver integrated campaigns.
