Gordon Moody is pleased to announce two significant leadership appointments following its Trustee Board meeting held on Wednesday 20 May 2026.
Claire Arnold has been appointed Chair of Trustees, succeeding the late Nazir Badat.

Claire has served as a Trustee of Gordon Moody for the past five years and brings extensive leadership experience, alongside a longstanding commitment to supporting individuals and families affected by gambling-related harm.
The Board has also confirmed Jon Murray’s appointment as Chief Executive Officer, following his successful six-month tenure as Interim Managing Director.

During this period, Jon led a substantial programme of organisational development and strategic transformation, helping position Gordon Moody for its next phase of growth and impact. This included developing integrated treatment pathways, expanding digital engagement and recovery services through Gambling Therapy, strengthening operational and clinical structures, and creating new partnership and commissioning opportunities across the UK and internationally.
Under Jon’s leadership, Gordon Moody has also continued to strengthen its role within the evolving gambling harms treatment landscape, progressing its readiness for the emerging NHS England commissioning framework and the wider national treatment system.
Commenting on her appointment, Claire Arnold said: “Gordon Moody plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families affected by gambling-related harm. I am honoured to take on the role of Chair and look forward to working with Jon, the Board and the wider team as the organisation enters an exciting new phase of development, innovation and growth.”
Jon Murray added: “It is a privilege to be appointed Chief Executive Officer of Gordon Moody. Over the past six months, we have made significant progress in strengthening our services, developing new pathways into support, and positioning the organisation for long-term sustainability and impact.
I am incredibly proud of our dedicated team and the life-changing work they deliver every day. Together, we will continue to expand access to treatment and recovery support, strengthen partnerships, and build integrated pathways that support people affected by gambling-related harm at every stage of their recovery journey.”
These appointments mark an important new chapter for Gordon Moody as the organisation continues its mission to help people recognise gambling harm earlier, access evidence-based support more quickly and sustain recovery through integrated digital, community and residential treatment pathways.”
