"A place to turn" that has helped me reach Day 730, Year Two, and will continue with me on my journey — if I chose to allow it, and chose to stay gambling free.
A Place To Turn
I had no place to turn,
I only know that the time was due.
I Googled and found millions of hits,
Millions of places where I could learn.
Sites that offered something new,
Places where after being alone, I would finally fit.
One site stood out, its name was just right;
Gambling Therapy was here for my case.
I need therapy but was afraid to seek,
For fear of reprisals and of doing what was right.
But here it was safe and I entered the race,
I worked on a program that I knew I could keep.
The first surprise was that I was not alone,
Others here had shared my grief;
Others had gone before me on this journey.
They welcomed me and I felt at home.
They shared of ways that would bring relief,
Of things to do to find the key.
That was months ago, just two years today.
I no longer need to search for places each hour,
Through finding others here I found what worked for me.
I still search and explore, but it is now for strength to stay.
Here I also found Gamblers Anonymous and my Higher Power,
I found the ways that will keep me gambling free.
LarryThanks to my Higher Power, My 3G’s – God, GA, and GT, "Day Two Is Another Day Behind" and with the help from all , I will continue to remain gambling free.
