Just for today, what does that mean?
What about the years? And months in between?
Each week, each month each year will come
But only after each day is done
Yesterdays gone, it’s in the past
The future will come, don’t wish it away fast
24 hours we can all manage
Just concentrate on now, forget all the baggage
8 hours of sleep makes it even smaller
16 hours not gambling, it’s not a tall order.
Get dressed, eat breakfast it gets smaller still
Then promise yourself and know that you will
Not gamble today, there’s not much time to fill
Go work, do jobs or just have some fun
All of the above have got to be done
      They fill up the time
      And help me to rhyme
“Never again” is sometimes too daunting
With the casinos or bookies tempting and taunting
Say “I won’t gamble today” and really believe
Coz a day at a time we all can achieve.

Thanks April, the one I saw from you was great too!!

At the end of the day though I don’t mind if poems are good or bad, they are from the heart and we need more of them. Get typing all you readers/poets! 😀
